Arguably the best footballer of all time has found his way into the eSports industry. Lionel Messi is now part of the Argentinian organization KRÜ Esports, which was founded in October 2020 by his former teammate Sergio Agüero.
Since the two have always had a deep friendship, it comes as no surprise that the Inter Miami star player was promoted directly to co-owner and thus shares the management position with Manchester City’s record goalscorer.

In a video message, Agüero first addressed his own fans with emotional words before announcing the arrival of his good friend, with whom he will steer the fortunes of the company from now on. In a statement on the organization’s official website, the 35-year-old went into more detail about the significance of this step for him and the entire team
“I’m delighted to be sharing a club with Leo, obviously now in a new phase and with different challenges. It’s an honor to have him as part of KRÜ. He is the best footballer in history and also a great friend,” Kun emphasized and continued: “His presence is important because he conveys values such as perseverance, humility and resilience. He is a figure who inspires everyone and will make a great contribution to the scene.”

In its almost three years of existence, the Argentinian organization has already established itself in the scene and made a name for itself with teams in titles such as FIFA/FC 24, Valorant, League of Legends and Rocket League. Its greatest successes include reaching the semi-finals at the 2021 Valorant World Championship and a top 12 finish at the 2023 Rocket League World Championship.
