After a long radio silence The Finals announces its return with a bang: Already on October 26 a beta starts – and this time also for console.

The Finals, the multiplayer shooter of former Battlefield developers, last caused a sensation in the summer of 2023 with its almost unbelievable level destruction.

After that, the project became suspiciously quiet and fans were already starting to worry. Now The Finals is back with a big bang: a Open Beta with new maps, modes and many improvements shall demonstrate what has happened in the last months.

We have received the following info from the developers in advance:

  • Start Date: Thursday, October 26, 2023 (time unknown).
  • End of Beta: Sunday, November 5, 2023 (late evening).
  • Platforms: PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S
  • Maps: Monaco, Seoul, Skyway Stadium
  • Scope: 5 game modes, 20 weapons, 9 Abilities, item progression

So for the first time The Finals is also playable on consoles, crossplay between platforms is enabled. A preload of the beta is not planned

After the last PC beta in June, The Finals garnered a lot of praise, but there were also criticisms from the community.

We especially liked the physical map destruction, which makes even previous Battlefield parts look old. Here’s what it looks like:

You don’t need a key to join this time, you can simply download The Finals for free in the respective store. This also applies to the launch: The Finals will be Free2Play.

The hype around The Finals was already noticeable during the last beta: Almost without any marketing effort on the part of the publisher, the shooter shot into the top 10 of the most wanted Steam titles worldwide:

The new beta includes Skyward Stadium, a previously unknown map, as well as the Bank-It mode, where four teams of three players each compete against each other in very fast rounds for money.

In addition, the already known variants Tournament (Ranked or Unranked), Quick Cash and the Training Ground are included.

The arena battles will be fought with 20 weapons, 26 gadgets and nine abilities, which are divided among the three already known classes (Light, Medium and Heavy). Embark also promises improvements to performance, movement, team play and more.

There’s also a Battle Pass once again, whereby you’ll be able to take 16 of the (cosmetic) rewards into the finished game once it’s released after the beta. It is not yet known when this will be – so far, the manufacturer has always talked about the year 2023. So there’s not much time left.
