The game Deadrop by Dr Disrespect is supposed to be more than just a shooter – in the new trailer there’s suddenly car fights à la Mad Max to see.

Fallen Twitch star DrDisrespect and his developer team Midnight Society, which consists of former Halo and CoD developers, have released news about their project Deadrop

Deadrop was supposed to be a vertical extraction shooter combining PVE and PVP elements in the style of Escape from Tarkov and offering players an intense and dynamic gaming experience . So far, however, only rough details are known, which is why one can only speculate at the moment what a game here will look like exactly.

The first screenshots shown caused a lot of ridicule after DrDisrepect had claimed that his game would look better than Call of Duty. A recently released trailer looks much better – but has not much in common with the originally announced shooter.

Deadrop will be more than a shooter

At Midnight Society, we’re not just building another generic first-person shooter … it’s time to jump in. We’re going on a MIDNIGHT RIDE.

With these words and the following trailer, the developers announce the latest game mode for Deadrop:

The recently released 30-second teaser shows cars speeding through gloomily lit streets, occasionally shooting at each other.

The whole thing is reminiscent of the racing game shooter Twister Metal and actually looks quite exciting. However, this change of genre also raises questions. How does a car race fit into an extraction shooter?

Possibly the developers were inspired by Marauders: Here, players start out in spaceships and must first dock at a space station, where the Tarkov-style shooter gameplay then takes place. This could be similar in Deadrop, where you have to fight your way through a tower full of loot and enemies. It’s quite possible that you’ll first have to drive there and then leave the map again in your own vehicle after a successful raid. We’ll probably know more on 20 October 2023, when new info on Deadrop is to be officially revealed in a livestream.
