There’s a romantic record chase going on in BG 3 right now. Some players are already reaching the first climax in less than eight minutes.

At the latest since it became known that you can have sex with a bear in Baldur’s Gate 3, the following news should no longer shock anyone.

Because while most speedrunners try to finish BG 3 as fast as possible and reach its end, a new category has now emerged in which other highlights of the role-playing game are reached in record time.

Hit the climax in under eight minutes

Yes, you heard me right: There is now an official speedrun hangover category called Romance%, where the goal is to get virtually laid as fast as possible.

The current world record is just under eight minutes and you can check it out here:

The current tactic works as follows: After the opening sequence, the speedrunner hops from the beach directly to the lowflings holding Lae’zael captive in order to free her. After killing a few goblins and forcing the Tieflings in their city to bow to the Githyanki Goddess, Lae’zael is enormously pleased.

The joy is no less the following night, as the warrior then roams the camp in search of a little intimacy. The speedrunner, of course, complies with her request and puts an even bigger smile on the lips of the otherwise grouchy Githyanki warrior.

Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3, have not yet officially commented on this new speedrun trend. But it would certainly be interesting to know what the developers, who have built plenty of spicy moments into their game, think about it.

What do you think? Do you find this new trend funny or rather disconcerting? And what is your personal record time – can you do it faster than eight minutes? Feel free to write it in the comments.
