ChatGPT for Android should be out later this week.

OpenAI follows suit: After Microsoft has had a dedicated Bing app for Android phones for a while now, there will soon be one for ChatGPT as well. Currently, you still have to use a browser to access the AI chatbot via an Android smartphone. That will now change soon.

Histories will be synced across devices

iPhone users have had a dedicated app for ChatGPT since May. On its Twitter account, OpenAI announced last Friday that now the ChatGPT app for Android will be released this week and that it is “pre-orderable” on the Play Store.

The app will be free, however registered users will have the benefit of having the app automatically installed on their phones once it is available on the Play Store.

Also pleasing: Histories will be synced between all devices you use ChatGPT on and the app will get all the latest model enhancements from OpenAI.

So you can continue a conversation you started on your PC, for example, on your phone and vice versa.

ChatGPT for Android should be released in the course of this week and you can easily pre-register via the (Play Store) . Just tap on “Install” and the app will automatically find its way to your phone as soon as it is available.

Do you use ChatGPT or Bing on your mobile phone and are you looking forward to this app? Have you been using the iOS app for a while and can you tell us about your experience? Let us know in the comments!
