As part of the fifth season, the EA shooter will be adding a new game mode for 48 players in just a few days. However, this is an event and is limited in time.

Battlefield 2042 didn’t have an easy start with fans of the shooter series. At its launch in late 2021, the game was heavily bugged and had far fewer features than originally announced.

In the meantime, however, the developers at DICE have stepped up and massively improved the game. The maps have been reworked, the classes work. In the past seasons, new weapons and maps were added; the current fifth season, “New Dawn”, has been running since the beginning of June.

Event, event, a little light is burning

Publisher EA has announced a limited event  for the current season, which will start in a few days: Arkangel Directive We have embedded the trailer for the event above.

The core feature of Arkangel Directive is a new game mode called Control for 48 players who go into battle in two teams of 24 players each.

How does it play?

In Control you will have to capture and hold alternate command points from which you upload data to satellite terminals If you succeed, you earn promotion points, which you can use to request vehicles for you and your teammates

Control is thus much more designed for speed than classic game modes and will once again fundamentally change the dynamics of Battlefield 2024.

The mode will be playable on the three maps Reclaimed, Orbital and Valparaiso and will offer changing rewards in each of the two announced weeks. Known so far are:

Rewards in week 1:

  • 1 rare background: Paradigm Shift
  • 1 epic lucky charm: Final Sleep
  • 1 epic weapon skin: Force Fusion

Week 2 Rewards:

  • 1 rare background: Expendable
  • 1 epic battle helmet: Interneural
  • 1 epic pistol skin: Binary Charge

When do we start?

The event Arkangel Directive runs from 11 July to 25 July 2023.

Your opinion is needed: Do you still play Battlefield 2042 or have you already turned your back on the shooter? Do you think the game is better than when it was released? What is your favourite Battlefield? Feel free to tell us all about it in the comments.
