For fans of cultivated zombie entertainment, there is a new reason to rejoice, as Dying Light 2 and The Walking Dead are planning a crossover.

Dying Light 2 s roadmap has announced ambitious plans for this year and next. While we still have to wait until 2024 for the next big story DLC, the time until then will be bridged with events. Apparently, next up for us is a crossover with arguably the most famous zombie brand on the planet: The Walking Dead

What does the event include?

Via Twitter, the developers posted a post including a picture announcing the crossover event. On the picture we see the Dying Light 2 character Vincenzo standing over his father’s grave The whole thing is in the style of The Walking Dead comics. So you shouldn’t expect characters like Daryl Dixon, as he only appears in the TV series and not in the comics.

We do not have more information at this stage. Accordingly, we don’t know when the event will start, how long it will last and what content it will offer.

There was already a crossover event with the game Call of Juarez, where you could play and buy exclusive weapons, equipment and blueprints. In addition, since then you can throw dynamite at the walking dead from a paraglider. The Walking Dead crossover is expected to be similar and we can expect exclusive items. On the other hand, interesting articles await you here!

The picture with Vincenzo could indicate that there will also be one or more new missions revolving around his grief recovery. Another new gameplay mechanic is unlikely considering the recent gameplay innovations, which would leave room for an additional extra.

That would at least make up a little for the story expansion being postponed until 2024. But you shouldn’t hope for that, because it’s pure speculation!

What do you hope for from the crossover between Dying Light 2 and The Walking Dead? What do you think about the fact that it’s with the comic series and not the TV series? Which crossover with the parkour zombie game would you most like to see? We’re very interested in your opinions, so feel free to write them in the comments!
