There are few eSports teams that have made such an impact on the Counter-Strike scene as Astralis. Nevertheless, the Danes are currently in a huge dispute with the ESL.

In the course of an independent investigation, it was determined that the eSports organisation Astralis, which originates from Denmark, had violated existing ESL regulations and contractual content in a “conflict of interest”. As a result, Astralis was fined 100,000 US dollars.

“Problem child” DOGS?

The specific allegation is that an employee was hired or contracted while employed by another eSports organisation. While it has not been revealed in the course of the investigation who exactly it is, a report by journalist Richard Lewis suggests that it could be Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen.

Brisant is also the timing of the announcement of the investigation. Shortly before, Astralis parted ways with DOGS and Director of Sports Kasper Hvidt, who had been instrumental in the deal for Petersen. However, HUNDEN has already announced via Twitter that his departure has nothing to do with the result or the investigation in general. He also said that he himself was not affected by any fines.

DOGS himself might be known to most as the Head Coach of Heroic, but also for his involvement in the Spectator bug scandal, which earned him a professional ban of two years.
