A new Extraction shooter is peeling out of the darkness. Beautiful Light is said to have new impetus and will be released on Steam
The directory of extraction shooters will soon be enriched by an entry: Beautiful Light is the name of the part, visually reminiscent of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and mixes in terms of gameplay Hunt: Showdown with a pinch of Evolve.
Wild mix, you think? Could be true, but remains nebulous in places. The young Swiss developer Deep Worlds SA was founded in 2022 and is so far a blank slate. A Steam page of the game already exists, the gameplay is clearly outlined, but not much of it is shown in moving images so far.
We briefly summarise what kind of multiplayer shooter Beautiful Light wants to be and when you can (probably) expect it.
This is what is known about Beautiful Light
On the (Steam page) of the game you can find a few very short gameplay videos and various pictures. You can view the screenshots here:
The graphics look fancy, the style zappenduster, the gameplay sounds like in interesting mix of some known games. The lack of longer scenes of coherent gameplay makes it difficult to assess at the moment. But luckily there’s the Steam description and a (FAQ).
How the shooter plays
Extraction-Shooter: Like in Escape from Tarkov or Hunt Showdown, you go into a raid with two colleagues to grab valuable loot. At the end, you have to escape alive, otherwise all the equipment you brought with you will be gone. A tactical hardcore shooter, with a strong horror twist to boot.
If your scalp is tingling right now, Hunt Showdown will soon have a new event:
Hunt Artifacts: The term alone is reminiscent of Stalker, much like the gritty style, and denotes the main objective of a raid. You have to find an artefact and heave it out in order to raid. Sounds easy, if it weren’t for the next item.
Mixed Dangers: There are AI enemies who want to take away your victory, five other player teams and, even more dangerous, other players in the skin of a powerful monster. The latter adds an asymmetrical component to the multiplayer.

The developers are already conducting test runs, for which you can apply on the (official website)
Beautiful Light is initially expected to make its way through Early Access, which is a common practice in the genre. Currently, the plan is to offer a playable demo in late 2023, but with no guarantees. The Early Access release is expected to follow in the first quarter of 2024
The price for the Early Access version has been communicated as 30 euros; this is also on par with other genre representatives. A release discount is supposed to lower the price tag to 25 Euros.
