After the immoral experiments on defenceless Koroks, Zelda players have now found another victim in Tears of the Kingdom: The Shield Boy.

Zelda players are cruel. This has been known at least since the atrocities against the harmless Koroks but there was at least a halfway understandable thought of revenge. Now, however, the community of Tears of the Kingdom has set its sights on a new target – and its only crime is that it wants to do its job properly!

The fans’ new victim

The target of the homicidal attacks is Addison. But the players don’t even let him have his own name and instead just call him the Shield Boy – because he takes his job as a shield holder very seriously.

No matter what the weather conditions, Addison performs his job for Hudson Construction with certainty. However, it remains questionable whether he does this out of love for his job or out of love for the managing director, Mr. Hudson.

Tormenting Koroks is old stuff. Go help the Signpost guy from letting things get out of hand.

You can be a friendly citizen of Hyrule and help the poor man with his shield problem. However, some players have obviously tasted blood after the Korok torment and Addison is the next ideal victim. Instead of helping him fix it, the players regularly shoot his shields into the air. His reaction: Woah! Unforgivable!

More atrocities

The fact that the Koroks were subjected to the community’s resentment is still halfway understandable – after all, the little pests hid 900 Korok seeds in the predecessor Breath of the Wild. Whoever makes the effort in Tears of the Kingdom and collects all 1000 seeds gets a golden piece of excrement as a reward.

But Addison has done no harm to anyone! The poor lad is just constantly in the wrong places at the wrong times. Hyrule is truly a dangerous place – and not just because of Ganondorf.

Have you helped the shield boy like a true hero, or do you prefer to annoy him by shooting his shields skywards? Feel free to share your sins in the comments, we’re excited!
