At the highest graphical level, EA lets it rip with the latest gameplay trailer for Immortals of Aveum. The two-minute action firework offers us cracking sound effects and bombastic gunfire.

EA and Ascendant Studios have released a new gameplay trailer for the cinematic magic shooter Immortals of Aveum during the PlayStation Showcase. This lets a cracking battle ensue before our eyes and shows numerous aspects of the three magic colours blue, green and red. Each magic colour seems to bring different effects. To cast spells, the gestures shown in the trailer are necessary. However, fighting is not only “with the hands”, magical weapons are also used against partly magical opponents.
The whole thing is mixed with an exciting character design and a few cool sayings. Maybe I’m a burnt child of Redfall or Forspoken… but these one-liners have the potential to be almost too cool.

Wrapped in this action experience from Immortals of Aveum is a dramatic story centred on the young mage Jak. In the case of the so-called presentee, the magical abilities have unexpectedly manifested themselves later in life.

So the once penniless young man is recruited into the Order of the Immortals by General Kirkan. Against his will, he suddenly finds himself in an endless war of humanity over the control of magic. To achieve victory, Jak must unravel the secrets of Aveum’s past to find salvation for the future.
