What would a brilliant genius be without his kind-hearted best friend? Frogwares explores this question in the latest trailer for Sherlock Holmes The Awakened.
The release date of Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is getting closer and closer. To get the fan community in the mood for a new case of the famous detective duo, Frogwares releases a new trailer. This shows the strong bond of friendship between Sherlock and John Watson.
While Sherlock gets more and more entangled in the case and therefore threatens to lose his mind, it is Watson’s job to anchor the detective back to reality. You can watch this foretaste of the game in the video above.
As this new trailer suggests, Frogware’s spotlight on the game isn’t just on Sherlock. Watson will also take on an even more important role in Sherlock Holmes The Awakened. Lead Narrative Designer Antonia Melnykova makes clear how much the plot also depends on him:
[…] He has a very distinct story compared to the original game, he’s playable in parts of the game, and the new ending is as much influenced by him as it is by Sherlock. […] But we couldn’t let Watson be just a one-dimensional safety net with no character of his own and no weaknesses of his own. So this new version of the story is as much about the two of them as human beings as it is about unfathomable Lovecraftian monstrosities.
We look forward to taking on the roles of both heroes when Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is released on 11 April for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
