In the last days and weeks more women’s leagues were announced for FIFA 23. Now a possible data leak could point to the implementation of women’s teams in FIFA Ultimate Team

The FIFA Ultimate Team mode is the centrepiece of the FIFA series and Electronic Arts’ cash cow. In recent years, the company generated more than 70% of its own revenue with ingame purchases, which includes the FUT mode. Reason enough, then, for the video game company to look for more ways to make the mode more interesting for additional and as yet untapped target groups.

According to a leak, there will be a separate variant for female teams in the future. At least that’s what Twitter user DekuGFX, who communicates in Spanish, reports. According to him, developer Electronic Arts is planning to offer a dedicated game mode exclusively for female players in the next edition of the football simulation.

WUT – Women’s Ultimate Team?

Currently FIFA 23 includes the first British and French women’s leagues. With the next patch, the teams of the American National Women’s Soccer League will be implemented as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Additionally, the teams of Real Madrid, Juventus Turin, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg will celebrate their FIFA debut.

But watch out!

Since this is an unconfirmed leak so far, this news should be taken with a grain of salt. At least Electronic Arts has not commented on this topic so far. FIFA 23 on the other hand will be the last game of the developer from the USA. Due to licensing disputes with the world association FIFA, the next game in the series will be called EA SPORTS F.C., but will still feature all leagues, teams and player names.
