New year, new update at Genshin Impact. Version 3.4 will be released in mid-January under the title Night of Crystal Clear String Sound. This brings numerous innovations, but a well-known event has also found its way back into the game.

The new year of the Gregorian calendar may have begun. But according to the Chinese lunar calendar, we are still in the old Year of the Tiger. That changes, however, with the night of 21 to 22 January. Then millions of Chinese people around the world will welcome the Year of the Rabbit. Why is this important for Genshin Impact?
Because the recurring traditional New Year lantern ritual will take place in Liyue. This timed event is modelled on the Lantern Festival in China, which is held two weeks after the New Year.

But don’t worry. In addition to the familiar event, there are also numerous new features in Genshin Impact, such as the Desert Hadramaveth in the Sumeru region. An incessant tornado rages in the desert, whose secrets hold new world missions for you.
Also new are a new 5-star dendro swordsman Alhaitham and a new 4-star dendro polearm fighter Yaoyao.

The recently added card game Genius Summoning to Genshin Impact will be expanded to include a limited-time mode. In addition, reduced clothing for limited-time Kamisato Ayaka is available for purchase in the shop.
Last but not least, free rewards including 13x interwoven fate, Lisa’s new clothes, and a free 4-star figure are added.

Version 3.4 will be available in Genshin Impact from 18 January.
