Among various world premieres and bombastic new announcements, fans were particularly happy about one piece of news: the official announcement of Death Stranding 2. Kojima Productions revealed the sequel to the dramatic adventure game with a four-minute trailer.

In the trailer of Death Stranding 2 we meet some familiar faces. At the beginning of the clip, Fragile (Léa Seydoux) flees with her baby from an unknown enemy. But during their escape they are attacked. While Fragile is seriously injured and merely faints, her baby does not seem to survive this attack.
From the second half of the trailer, Norman Reedus also returns to the screen as protagonist Sam and Troy Baker as antagonist Higgs Monaghan.

As you’d expect, Death Stranding 2’s trailer raises a lot of questions that will probably have to remain unanswered for now. At the end of the video, we are also confronted with an additional question, which reads as follows: Should we have connected? (Should we have connected?) Of course, it is likely that this question refers to BB-28 aka. Lou.

Here’s what we already know about Death Stranding 2: The game is being developed with Guerrilla’s Decima Engine and will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 5. In an interview, The Game Awards organiser Geoff Keighley talks briefly with Hideo Kojima about the game. However, in keeping with his charm, he is deliberately vague and shrouded in mystery.
