“Walk like a Gorilla” seems to be the current motto in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. The G-Walk has conquered the servers and we reveal to you how it works.

The monkeys are back in Call of Duty, but this time it”s not about King Kong. A new movement trick is currently conquering the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 servers. The G-Walk may look silly, but it can give me a decisive advantage in multiplayer. We”ll tell you what it”s all about and how the G-Walk works.

Make a monkey out of yourselves

After developer Infinity Ward has greatly reduced or completely removed slide cancelling and bunny hopping in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, there is now a new method of locomotion that could hardly look any sillier.

The so-called G-Walk combines jumping, ducking and sliding with each other and thus enables us to move faster across the map than in normal running.

Even though you make a complete ass of yourself with the G-Walk, it is extremely effective in multiplayer. The quick movements and abrupt changes of direction make it extremely difficult to hit players.

It can be assumed that the G-Walk will be removed with the next update at the latest. Take your chance to make an ass of yourself, so better do it fast.

How the G-Walk works

To “activate” the G-Walk, you need to make a few changes to your mouse and keyboard settings. In a short clip, Twitter user (MydenGG) demonstrates how the trick works and reveals what to keep in mind.

  1. Go to Settings (cogwheel) in the Call of Duty menu and open Keyboard & Mouse
  2. Deactivate the setting “Automatic Sprint “ in the Gameplay tab.
  3. Set Tactical Sprint Behaviour to “Press while running “
  4. Tactical Sprint behaviour on “Shift “
  5. Push-down behaviour on “Shift “
  6. Sprint/tactical sprint behaviour on “Shift “

If you perfect your timing, you can even fly through the air for a short moment after a jump and overcome otherwise insurmountable distances.

The key combination is quite tricky at first glance and probably requires a little practice, especially at the beginning. With “W + Shift + mouse wheel down + then Shift” you start the G-Walk and plough across the map in no time at all.

The trick is also possible on the controller, but it is much more difficult. In contrast to the controversial Aim Assist, in this case PC players are ahead of the game.
