A lot has changed in Valorant eSports, but one constant remains: TenZ has extended his contract with top team Sentinels.

Despite sweeping changes in the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), one of the biggest stars of the Valorant eSports scene remains with his club. Tyson “TenZ” Ngo will remain with the US-based Team Sentinels.

The Valorant pro and streamer has signed a new contract and will compete for Sentinels in the restructured VCT 2023.

Sentinels and TenZ: Back to success?

TenZ and Sentinels enjoyed great success together, especially in the 2021 season. There, they won the first two Masters tournaments. In the Masters 3 and the final Champions Tournament, however, it was not enough beyond midfield places.

The following season was a low point for the Sentinels. Here, the selection could not even qualify for the Masters or the Champions Tournament. A stay of the star player was therefore not guaranteed. But now the 21-year-old could be kept. This is one of the first steps in the restructuring process for the Sentinels.

The rest of the squad also sounds promising: with Zachary “zekken” Patrone, a promising player from XSET could be signed, Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Bryan “pANcada” Luna could be poached from last year’s champions LOUD. The well-known streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek is also to be part of the team this season.

Next season, the VCT will take a slightly different form. Sentinels are among the North American “Riot Partners” who will compete in one of three international leagues during the 2023 VCT.
