In mid-October, Battlefield will bring new content to the shooter with a limited-time event. Among other things, you can expect a game mode limited to infantry.

After Season 2, Battlefield 2042 is supposed to continue with new content soon. EA had already announced the Liquidators event for October 2022, but was stingy with details until now. Now, however, they released a trailer and (extensive information) about the new game mode, cosmetic items and more. You can find out everything we know about the event so far here.

When is the Liquidators event coming?

The event will take place from 11 to 25 October 2022. It is expected that you will only be able to fight in the new game mode and earn the Liquidator skins as a reward during this time. The event is named after a brutal mercenary group that carries out shady missions on behalf of black market traders.

What”s new with the Liquidators event?

You can see all the new content that will be released with the event in the graphic above. However, we will now go into more detail on the individual aspects.

New Game Mode: Tactical Conquest

Faster Conquest: After Dataminer Temporyal already announced it was now officially confirmed: The new game mode, limited to infantry, will be called Tactical Conquest and will be played with two teams of 8 or 16 players each. The combat will take place on smaller versions of familiar maps. The teams must each try to hold the majority of three conquest points to win a match.

Six maps: You can play Tactical Conquest on Arica Harbor, Upheaval, Caspian Frontier, Discarded, New Beginning and Stranded. The pictures show you how large the map sections are:

Importance of Teamwork: It should be especially important to work together in the squad, as there are probably no spawn points in a conquered area. Radio beacons will be of great importance here. In addition, the more allies there are, the faster you will conquer the points.

Varying team size and time limit: The team size will be changed during the event: 8 vs 8 players in the first week, but 16 vs 16 in the second week. How long the mode will be available is not explicitly explained. Since it is temporary, we have to assume that it will disappear again at the end of the event.

New cosmetic items

During the event you can unlock some new cosmetic items. To do so, you must obtain Order Ribbons in the Tactical Conquest game mode and you will receive the following rewards:

  • 10 Ribbons of Order – Epic Player Card Background “The Shield
  • 30 Order Ribbons – Epic AM40 Weapon Skin “Kinetic Calibre
  • 60 Ribbons – Dozer Specialist Set “Demolition Crew
  • 100 Order Ribbons – Legendary M1A5 Vehicle Skin “Trojan Horse”

You will also receive a themed headgear and weapon skin just for signing up during the event. You can then pick both up in the store. Other new skins that will be released during the event will probably only be available with real money.

What will happen after the event?

The next big date is the start of Season 3. Since the second season is supposed to end on 22 November, we can assume that Season 3 will also start in November 2022. There we can expect big changes, like the return to the class system, further map updates and of course new weapons, vehicles and more. A developer video already gives a foretaste:

What do you think of the new Liquidator event game mode? Would you like to see a more tactical infantry mode for Battlefield 2042? Or do you prefer large battlefields? Feel free to post your opinion in the comments!
