The new World Series of Warzone tournament series is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone with four top-level events. A total prize pool of $1.2 million awaits teams

Activision is breaking new ground in esports: the developer announced a series of high-paying Call of Duty: Warzone tournaments on Wednesday. Each of the four online World Series of Warzone (WSOW) events comes with a prize pool of $300,000, adding up to a total of $1.2 million.

Open Qualifier and Top Teams combined

The tournament series will be held for players from Europe and from North America. Both duo and trio mode competitions will be offered.

For the first event, a total of 50 trios will compete against each other for a prize pool of $200,000. These include professional organisations that receive a direct invitation as well as players who fight their way through the Open Qualifiers.

In addition to the trio competition, a Captain’s Cup will also be organised, with $100,000 up for grabs. For this, five of the most renowned CoD professionals will be chosen as captains, who will then have to put together their own team.

Due to the Open Qualifiers, the WSOW is open to everyone. The upcoming qualifiers on 24 May are so far only open to North American players. The respective winners of the qualifiers will be in the main event. When European fans will have the chance to prove their skills is still unknown. More information can be found on the official homepage of CoD: Warzone
