The Major legend retires from professional Counter-Strike and wants to dedicate himself to streaming from now on.

A legend is leaving the Esport stage, at least partially: On Thursday night, Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip announced his retirement from competitive CS:GO on Twitter. The 24-year-old US-American will exchange his position in the active roster of the Evil Geniuses for a place in the Creater Collective of the organisation. He will therefore remain with the community through his streams, which he now wants to focus on completely.

Stewie2K has been active in professional Counter-Strike since 2015 and is one of the most successful players in North America. In 2018, with Cloud9, he led a North American lineup to a Major victory for the first and so far only time in history. In 2019, he also won the Intel Grand Slam with Team Liquid.

As he bids farewell to his pro career, we’ve picked out Stewie2K’s five most kick-ass plays for you once again!

1 – Stewie2K saves Cloud9

Probably the biggest play of his career: Cloud9’s back was already against the wall against Faze Clan in the finals of the Boston Major. But with an incredible B-Hold, Stewie2K secured the overtime for his team. And later even the Major title.

2 – Stewie2K ignites the flaming hell

In the deciding group match of ESL One Belo Horizonte 2018, Stewie decides to grill his opponents in a special way. Not only does he secure the Ace with the MP9 in the process, but he also gives his team SK Gaming the win over the Space Soldiers.

3 – Alone against Astralis

In the quarterfinals of the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, Stewie2K takes apart almost the entire team from then archrival Astralis with a smart USP play.

4 – Took apart the defence

As an entry fragger, Stewie2K is feared. He demonstrates his skills with the AK in this play from ESL Pro League Season 10.

5 – One Man, One AWP, One Ace

Equally feared is Stewie2K for his skills on the AWP sniper rifle. He showed off his skills against BIG during DreamHack Open Denver 2017 when he unceremoniously took apart the entire team on Cache
