Valorant recently launched in Episode 5. With Pearl, a fresh card was introduced – while in the community the focus is on a potential new agent.

Split is history, Pearl is the eighth map variant in total that is now available in Valorant. The special feature of the map is its simple style. Instead of teleportation, door or cable car shortcuts that allow players to move faster from A to B, there are three classic paths in the underwater city where attackers and defenders face each other.

Other than that, Valorant’s Episode 5 Act 1 brings the usual minor tweaks to a few set screws – but fans of the game are already waiting for the 21st agent.

Valorant: Who is behind the codename “Mage”?

While a new agent was last brought into play on 27 April with Fade, the first leaks are circulating on Twitter about another new addition named Mage. As always, unconfirmed information should be taken with a grain of salt, Riot Games has not commented on this.

The account enjoys a high level of trust, however, with around 800,000 followers regularly relying on the advance info, which has proven true often enough. It can be assumed that “Mage” will be female (a leaked player card of the new Battle Pass shows a previously unknown female agent) and will belong to either the Sentinel or the Controller class.

Since Fade has recently strengthened the Initiators, it would be logical if the next character could take on one of these roles. Nothing is known yet about the release date – the codename suggests that the agent will have magical powers. Exactly what abilities she will be equipped with remains to be seen.
