The third season of Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific is about to be released. We reveal what you can look forward to.

On 27 April, the new Warzone Season “Classified Arms” will be released and brings some interesting changes with it. Besides new weapons, map and balancing changes, a long-awaited visitor will also finally arrive on Caldera.

Godzilla is coming!

First things first: Yes, Godzilla will indeed make Warzone unsafe. What has been suspected for a while now seems to be confirmed. Godzilla will pay a visit to the Pacific island Caldera and turn the map upside down. In two official pictures, the map is in flames, while a gigantic creature approaches from the water, which can be clearly identified as Godzilla. The primeval monster is approaching the docks from a northerly direction and will probably “reshape” the harbour somewhat upon its arrival. Furthermore, however, there is no evidence of King Kong or other monsters from the Godzilla universe as yet.

Secret Weapons

As the name of Season 3 suggests, there will also be new weapons in the update. On 16 April, a short teaser was released that gives the first hints. The futuristic-looking guns, however, are more reminiscent of science fiction than of the Second World War. Several of the weapons shown glow and one of them has a scale-like structure reminiscent of Godzilla’s skin itself.

During the video, the narrator mentions that in order to win this battle, it will take unconventional ammunition and weapons. This could be a hint at new ammunition types in Warzone. It is possible that this is similar to the Nebula V ammunition already introduced in Season 2. To fight Godzilla effectively, normal ammunition is apparently not enough.

Card changes

Although no detailed changes to Caldera have been announced yet, it can be assumed that the map will undergo a drastic transformation with the arrival of Godzilla. As Senior Creative Director Ted Timmins shared in a stream in early April, there are “some really cool things” planned for POI Peak. He went on to say that the pace of play on Caldera will also be adjusted, which speaks to an overhaul of the terrain and more cover. How drastic these will be, however, remains unclear for now.

What else?

Of course, with every new Warzone Season comes a shift in weapon meta. During an interview on April 6, Timmins already revealed that there will be a change to the sniper rifles in Warzone. It can be assumed that in the future it will no longer be so easy to take out your opponents at longer distances. Unfortunately, Timmins has not yet revealed what exactly these nerfs will look like. The so-called “sniper meta” has long been a thorn in the side of many players and is generally considered too strong.

Another improvement concerns the step noises. As we already reported, the sounds when walking are to be made more recognisable. Especially the direction from which the steps come should become clearer. This should make it possible for players to better prepare for upcoming fights. Currently it often happens that players only know exactly where an opponent is when he has already opened fire on them.

Through a glitch, a German Warzone player could already get a glimpse of the upcoming season. In addition to four new prestige levels and various challenges, a new blueprint for the Assault Rifle 44 can also be seen. According to Akafrost03, however, the glitch could not be repeated and only appeared once on him.
