After abuse scandal – Esport star plans comeback

VALORANT pro Sinatraa is planning his return to esports after being accused of sexual abuse last year.

Jay “Sinatraa” Won has been accused of sexual abuse in March 2021. As a result, the player was suspended from the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) by publisher Riot Games and his then-team Sentinels. The investigation continued for months. More than a year after the incident, the professional player announced his return.

His ex-girlfriend “cle0h” Hernandez accused the professional player of sexually and psychologically abusing her last year. During the investigations, Sinatraa was no longer allowed to participate in competitions of the first person shooter VALORANT. However, the US-American announced his comeback on Twitter. Sinatraa wants to return to the professional game this week. However, it is still unknown with which team he will celebrate his return to the professional scene.

Due to the suspension, the professional player was no longer an active member of the esports scene in VALORANT for a year. He was replaced at the Sentinels by star Tyson “TenZ” Ngo. According to Sinatraa, he learned a lot about himself during the period of forced hiatus and grew as a person himself. Now he would be ready for his return. Once again, the Sentinels would be the first port of call for the 22-year-old, although they are not currently looking for a new player.

In his statement in May 2021, the professional player already showed his understanding and publicly apologised about the hurtful behaviour towards his ex-girlfriend. Furthermore, he wants to earn the trust of the community again. However, Sinatraa previously denied the allegations of sexual abuse. According to the player, the relationship was unhealthy for both of them.
