A modder builds an impressive cyberpunk city in Skyrim, showing what you can still get out of the old role-playing game.

We know by now that you can still make a lot out of Skyrim even after more than 10 years. Whether it’s over 1,000 mods that make it feel like a brand new role-playing game or the biggest Skyrim mod ever that makes all of Tamriel walkable for us. But then sometimes you do get surprised.

The well-known graphics modder Digital Dreams has once again taken on Skyrim and created an impressive map inspired by Cyberpunk 2077. Sky’s Edge is unrecognisable as a result.

Cyberpunk meets Skyscape

In his video, he shows a fully walkable city in Skyrim that is reminiscent of Night City – but also very reminiscent of Deus Ex. In the showcase, numerous buildings, streets and even NPCs can be seen, which only with a lot of imagination remind us of the original Skyrim:

Clearly, it doesn’t come close to the level of detail of a Cyberpunk 2077 – the alleys look a bit empty at one or the other corner in comparison. But the assets shown give an idea of what else would be possible with this mod in the old Skyrim engine. What is particularly impressive is that this level is completely playable, NPC names have been adapted and you can interact with characters as usual.

Among other things, the Elysium mod list was used for this, which takes a look at the general graphics framework of Skyrim. But of course it only runs on the appropriate hardware. The following components were used for the video:

  • Mainboard: Asus Prime x470-Pro
  • CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32Gb
  • GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3090
  • SSD: Crucial mx500 2TB

The modder has already helped (Middle-earth: Mordor’s Shadow), (Witcher 3) and (Skyrim), among others, to terrific high-end graphics in the past.

If you’re interested in even more impressive mods then we recommend taking a look at  the most comprehensive Skyrim mod of all time:

What do you think of the result? Impressive or too old-fashioned graphics? What mods have you tried in Skyrim? Tell us in the comments!
