For two weeks you can play Call of Duty: Vanguard for free and test the new content of Season 2, especially the new game mode Arms Race.

Have you always wanted to play the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Vanguard? If so, you can rejoice, because a new free promotion allows you to do just that. We have all the information for you on how long the trial period lasts and what content you can play.

Because you don’t get the full package: In the (official blog entry) the developers write that it is about selected new and popular maps and game modes. We’ve summarised all the other details below.

Free periods are all well and good, but in the coming year the long-running shooter series is even set to break completely new ground:

Call of Duty to break with a long-standing tradition in 2023

All info about the free period for CoD Vanguard (Multiplayer)

How long does the free promotion last? You can start playing from 30 March 2022 at 8pm. You will then have 14 days to test the content. The end of the day is on 13 April 2022, also at 8 pm.

How can I start the trial version
? On the PC, all you need to do is install the Battle.net client and search for Vanguard there. A Play for Free button will tell you that the trial period has started

What content can I play? The free promotion focuses on the currently running Season 2, which launched on 14 February and received a major Reloaded patch just a few days ago on 22 March.

Accordingly, you can try out the following contents:

  • Two new maps: The Moroccan city of Casablanca is a medium-sized map and focuses the action mainly on the marketplace. In addition, you can enter several buildings and thus shift the battle to a short distance. The map Gondola is much colder. Here you will find, among other things, a mountain gorge and a high observation tower. A power station is also waiting to serve as a backdrop for action-packed firefights.
  • New game mode Arms Race: In the brand new mode, you have to conquer all base points in order to win. Vehicles are also available to help you move quickly across the very large map. The conquered positions also function as spawn points so that you can quickly return to the current location if you die. You can also buy new weapons and other equipment at each base.
  • Multiplayer playlist with popular classics: If that’s not enough, you can look forward to the return of some old favourites. The multiplayer playlist, which is also playable, lets you play on classic maps like Shipment, Das Haus and other (rather small) maps

You can get a taste of the new content in Season 2 Reloaded in this trailer:

Late success thanks to trial period? It remains to be seen whether this campaign will be enough to give CoD Vanguard a subsequent boost. So far, the title has been one of the less successful entries in the franchise, with Cold War selling better.

Will you take advantage of the free promotion to play Vanguard? Or can the title just not spark any interest in you? And what are your wishes for future CoD games? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments
