While developer 11 bit studios wants to support the population with the profits of its video game “This War of Mine”, Team Liquid offers Ukrainians stuck abroad a place to stay.

11 bit studios is collecting donations for the Ukrainian Red Cross. With the simulation “This War of Mine”, the Polish developer depicts the lives of civilians fighting for survival in a war zone. Thus, this game has a direct reference to the current emergency in Ukraine, which has escalated since Thursday due to the attack of the Russian army.

“For the next seven days, all proceeds from This War of Mine, along with all DLC, will go into a special fund,” reads the announcement from 11 bit studios on Twitter. “The money will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross in one week to support the victims of war in Ukraine.”
This War of Mine was awarded “Best International Game World” and “Best International Game” by the German Computer Game Awards in 2015. 11 bit studios is also the developer of the award-winning build-up game Frostpunk. The second part was announced in August last year.
Refuge with Team Liquid
One of the world’s best-known esports organisations is providing a roof over the heads of Ukrainians abroad. Team Liquid announced on Thursday that it is taking in a Ukrainian esport player in the Netherlands, as he is unable to return to his home country due to the outbreak of war.

This morning, we received a request from a non-Liquid player stuck in another country who could not travel home. We will open our Netherlands flats for him and any of our friends or colleagues in a similar situation.
