Infinity Ward takes the lead on the development of CoD 2022, promising an all-new game for the CoD franchise.

Infinity Ward is taking the lead on the development of Call of Duty 2022 and is already hyping up fans for the new title on Thursday. The game is set to be a completely new generation of Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is only a few months old and already CoD enthusiasts are looking ahead to Activision’s upcoming title. After all, according to rumours, up to eleven development studios are working on the project, including Infinity Ward itself. However, the well-known CoD developer was also announced as the leading studio in the quarterly report on Thursday. This has already raised hopes among connoisseurs for a possible Modern Warfare 2.

On its official Twitter page, the developer studio responded to the announcement. According to the company, “a new generation of Call of Duty will soon be released.” In addition, Infinity Ward bids farewell by saying “Stay frosty”, which again is a well-known and iconic line from Modern Warfare. This further fuels the rumour mill surrounding a second part of the game.

Activision Blizzard has also announced that Infinity Ward is working on arguably the most ambitious plan in the franchise’s history. It is said to use the latest innovations in the gaming industries and have an appealing setting for the franchise. However, Modern Warfare 2 has not been officially announced yet. More light will only be shed on the matter once Infinity Ward reveals the first information on the development of the new title.
