After the release disaster of eFootball, KONAMI wants to reward the community for playing their unfinished simulation with rewards. The community reacts with mockery.

KONAMI had a lot planned for the current football simulation season. A free-to-play title was supposed to catapult eFootball (formerly: Pro Evolution Soccer) past EA Sports FIFA. However, the miserable failure is already known throughout the community. Now KONAMI is causing laughter with a tweet with which they actually wanted to accommodate the remaining fans.

Rewards for Bug Festival eFootball

The launch of the free-to-play football simulation eFootball went disastrously and while the community waited for the 1.0.0 update, KONAMI decided at the end of the year to postpone the release until spring 2022.

In the meantime, eFootball is said to be running the pre-season match campaign, where you earn rewards for playing matches and scoring goals.

This is how the community reacts

In the comments you can get a feel for what the current mood is in the PES community. Most of the games played are the PES 2021 update version. Rewards for eFootball 2022 is blocked in most of the comments and the publisher is laughed at.

The Twitter account @chitsweire, for example, questioned the usefulness of playing a game because of rewards, although there were currently no signs of improvement in sight.

At the moment, no one knows if KONAMI can recover from this disaster. The team seems to be working at full speed on the update 1.0.0, which is supposed to be released in spring 2022. By then, there will also be more information on the other competitor UFL.
