Kratos and his son-man have arrived on PC highly successfully and can even outdo Horizon: Zero Dawn. The players are also full of praise.

With God of War, the next former PlayStation exclusive title recently found its way onto the PC. A look at the Steam statistics shows how successful this venture has been. The ups and downs of Kratos and his son Atreus can currently convince almost all players and replaces Horizon: Zero Dawn as the most successful port for the home computer to date.

(And rightly so! Because even on the (PC), this game can only be described as a masterpiece)

65,000 players at the same time and almost only positive user reviews

So far, only two days have passed since the PC launch, so of course we still have to wait and see how long the God of War can ride the wave of success. But over 65,000 simultaneously active players in the past 24 hours (via SteamDB) speak a clear language:

This beats the previous frontrunner Horizon: Zero Dawn within Sony Studios. Since its release, Aloy’s adventures have been played simultaneously by a peak of more than 56,000 users and could thus also be considered a success for Sony’s ambitious expansion plans. Because what seemed unthinkable in the past is now becoming more and more of a reality: experiencing the popular PlayStation thrillers on the PC.

What also stands out when looking at the SteamDB data is the – so far – constant course of the player numbers. At least for the time being, this does not indicate that interest in the title will wane in the near future.

The user reviews are also clear

Not surprisingly, God of War is also at number 1 on this week’s Steam sales chart. And what do the numerous buyers say? Mostly positive, because 97 percent of all (User-Reviews) are currently positive.

What is praised most often? Unsurprisingly, the graphics, the atmosphere and the exciting plot. Many users also signal that they would buy further ports of popular Sony titles such as Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne or Spider-Man without hesitation.

And what is criticised? What is much more exciting about these figures is what negative things are mentioned. Here, the annoying mouse acceleration is particularly noticeable. In addition, owners of AMD graphics cards seem to have problems with performance and crashes. Mostly, these are technical aspects. However, these are likely to be isolated cases, because our hardware editors attest that the PC technology of God of War is very high overall.

You can see which special features will make the PC version even more beautiful than the original in this trailer:

What do you think of the PC version of God of War? Do you also have problems with the spongy mouse controls or do you play with the controller anyway? And what other PlayStation port would you like to see next? Let us know in the comments!
