Riot is expanding its League of Legends universe. However, the new title Ruined King will not be a MOBA, but a role-playing game for lone fighters.

LoL has always been the first port of call for MOBA fans alongside Dota 2. But that could change now, because with Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, Riot wants to pick up solo roleplayers as well.

The game is scheduled for release in early 2021 for PC and all major consoles and will tell another story in the big LoL universe.

Roleplaying with Champions
In summary, it’s about the Ruined King, who threatens the LoL game world Runeterra. You have to avert the threat of the new enemy in the pirate city Bilgewater and on the cursed Shadow Isles. To do this, you have a total of six champions at your disposal: Miss Fortune, Pyke, Braum, Illaoi, Ahri, and Yasuo.

Nothing more is known about the story so far. What is known, however, is that Ruined King will be a turn-based tactical role-playing game based on role-playing classics like Final Fantasy. You explore the world from a top-down perspective. As soon as you have to fight, you switch to a tactical side view.

Here you can watch the trailer of the game again:
