Halo Infinite’s beta is drawing gamers in droves – and judging by the Steam reviews, the game seems to be a success.

Halo Infinite has not even been released yet, but it is currently on its way to the top on the Steam platform. The beta of the shooter has more players and better ratings than its competitors.

At the end of the year, several developers from the shooter genre are once again going full throttle. In addition to the recent releases of Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty: Vanguard in November, the latest part about the Master Chief is now in the starting blocks. Halo Infinite by developer 343 Industries will officially be released on 8 December, but the beta phase of the multiplayer mode is already playable for free. And some fans are taking advantage of this opportunity: Halo is currently outstripping its genre rivals.

If you compare the numbers of Battlefield 2042 and Halo on Steamcharts, there are significantly more players in Halo. The all-time peaks of the two titles, i.e. the highest number of simultaneous players, clearly speak in favour of the Master Chief:

  • Halo Infinite: 256,619
  • Battlefield 2042: 100,590

There are currently no official player numbers for Call of Duty: Vanguard. But the various games have been rated, among others on Metacritic. There, Halo Infinite has the lead in the official ratings, the user ratings are not yet active. The beta received a stable score of 82 based on the reviews. CoD: Vanguard is a distant second with 72 and Battlefield 2042 takes the last place on the podium with 69 points. All ratings refer to the PC version of the respective title.

The user ratings on Steam also speak in favour of Halo: So far, the game has managed to capture over 75,000 positive reviews – almost 80 percent of the total 94,000 reviews are positive. The ratio on Steam is completely different for Battlefield 2042: There, only around 34 percent of the 82,000 reviews are positive. Now it’s up to 343 Industries to keep the numbers high after the official release on Wednesday and possibly even improve them.
