On 8 February 2022, the Royal Court DLC for Crusader Kings 3 will finally be released and bring new content to fans of the complex strategy game. Some of the new features, such as the artefacts, are already known from the second part of the series and are now celebrating a comeback.

But that doesn’t matter, after all, the artefacts in connection with the new inventory for your characters should provide enough fresh air. Just like in a real role-playing game, you can give the individual characters bonuses in the form of artefacts and other items.

Good news: Even players who do not yet purchase the Royal Court DLC at release will be able to enjoy most of the gameplay innovations for free. However, those who want to upgrade their artefacts to the highest levels and use them at the royal court must purchase the DLC.

If you would like to revisit the review of Crusaders Kings 3, you can do so here. Keep in mind, however, that especially such big strategy titles have a long lifespan and are usually greatly expanded and improved over the years. Much more important than the state at launch is therefore what the future of the strategy game looks like.
