Although Call of Duty: Vanguard has not yet been released, there are big plans for the next instalment in the franchise.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on November 5. Vanguard returns to World War II and features an all-new campaign, multiplayer, zombies, as well as additions to Warzone.

Although fans can usually expect a new Call of Duty every year, Activision is already making plans for the next instalment in the tradition-rich series. This next CoD will reportedly continue the Modern Warfare saga and pick up where the 2019 title left off.

Rumours are already starting to swirl about the features of the unannounced Call of Duty title. According to various sources, key development features could possibly include Weapon Jamming, a new morale system in the campaign, a revamped AI and more.

Rumours also say that this new Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty sequel will include horror elements. Many have described the new concept for the FPS as similar to PT, with inspiration from Hideo Kojima.

This would be an incredible departure from the Call of Duty norm. In countless titles, the campaign has strictly adhered to the conventions of classic military shooters, mimicking an action movie more than anything else. While the inclusion of horror game elements is a drastic departure, it could be a breath of fresh air for the series.

Officially, nothing has been announced about the upcoming Call of Duty game. With Vanguard so close to release and a lot of resources going into post-launch support, it’s unlikely we’ll hear anything anytime soon. These rumours will give us a lot to think about though.
