The groups of the League of Legends World Championship 2021 have been determined. Rogue receives two extremely difficult tasks.
It’s almost that time again: From 5 October to 6 November, the best teams in League of Legends will compete at this year’s World Championship in Iceland. 22 participants from all over the world will fight for the most important title of the year. On Wednesday, as in previous years, the groups for the Main Event and the Play-In phase were drawn in a special live show by Riot Games.
The groups of the Main Event
12 of the 16 teams in the group stage have already been determined, with the four others joining them after the play-in stage. The 12 teams were divided into three different pools in advance. Two squads from one region could not end up in the same group.
Rogue, as the European participant, will face the last two World Champions DWG KIA and FunPlus Phoenix in Group A and will be clear underdogs for a top-2 finish. Fnatic will face Royal Never Give Up, among others, in Group C. The MAD Lions have interesting tasks in Group D with Team Liquid and Gen.G.

The groups of the play-in phase
Ten teams were in the two pools for the play-in phase. These were divided into two groups of five teams each. Four teams ultimately qualified for the group stage of the Main Event, but for the remaining participants the journey ended early.
