If you miss fighter planes in Microsoft Flight Simulator, you will find them in the free DCS World. To ensure a smooth start, we give you tips for the configuration, control and first missions.

Microsoft’s new Flight Simulator has set the heart of most flight simulator enthusiasts racing. And given the phenomenal graphics, many players have certainly found their way into the virtual cockpit for the very first time and discovered their joy of flying.

If the aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator are not fast enough for you, or if you find civilian air traffic too well-behaved in the long run, you should take a closer look at DCS World. Modern supersonic fighter jets, helicopters, but also fighter planes from the time of World War II are waiting there, along with a variety of weapon systems – and of course opponents.

DCS World (DCS stands for Digital Combat Simulator) is a digital battlefield that offers the most realistic simulation possible of various military aircraft, but also of ships and landing units. The player sits in the aircraft while the AI controls land and sea units. Even though the download is free, beginners need a little patience to get to grips with the simulation.
