Following rumours of a release delay for Horizon Forbidden West, Sony has now confirmed: The game won’t be released until 2022. A firm date has already been set.

The Corona pandemic has had a major impact on the gaming industry. Horizon Forbidden West has now also had to experience this. The second part of the successful action role-playing game Horizon Zero Dawn was originally supposed to be released in 2021. However, Sony has now confirmed that the release will be postponed to next year.

Accordingly, Forbidden West will be released on 18 February 2022, pre-orders will already be possible from 2 September 2021.

The postponement is mainly justified by the ongoing pandemic, which according to Sony brought with it “new workflows, procedures and other challenges”. They said they wanted to protect the development team and put a healthy work-life balance first and foremost.

Small consolation for Horizon fans
Fans of Aloy won’t go completely empty-handed, however. Developer Guerilla Games has announced an update for Zero Dawn for PlayStation 5 players. With it, you can finally enjoy the 60 FPS that the community is striving for.

Owners of the game will receive the patch automatically.
