With the announcement of “PREMIER”, a new mode for Valorant, the developers want to give the average player an experience similar to that of the pros. Does this also come with a pick&ban system for the individual maps?

Riot Games has made good on its announcement of a link between the game itself and Valorant eSports in the form of the VCT ecosystem. Starting next week, “Premier”, a competitive mode will go live that aims to let casual players experience Valorant in a similar way to VCT pros and teams.

Importantly, Premier is still in alpha. According to the developers, this means that only 60% of all envisaged functions have been integrated. Additionally, not all players will get direct access either. Initially, it is a small group of players from Brazil who will be allowed to test Premier and pass on their feedback to Riot Games.

Valorant Premier: Pro-Environment for Otto Normal Gamers

In Premier, players have the opportunity to put together their own team of five players and regularly play matches against other teams of a similar skill level in a weekly cycle. The teams are divided into individual divisions, with the best teams playing in a major tournament at the end to compete for the title of division champion.

Similar to a game mode based on the pro scene, would also be the implementation of pick&ban phases. Both in agent and map selection. For the players, this would mean that from now on they would have direct influence on which maps they play their games on.

A feature that could actually give the average Valorant gamer the feeling of being more part of a professional eSports environment. In this way, the tactical shooter is following similar paths that Riot Games has already taken with League of Legends and the Clash mode.
