Players:inside continue to report graphics card failures in Amazon’s new MMORPG New World. An FPS cap is recommended.

Adventurers beware, the new MMORPG New World from Amazon could destroy your graphics card while exploring the new world. The problem was supposed to have been fixed for the release on Tuesday, but players continue to report defective cards. Those who want to test the game should definitely limit their FPS.

Fans already noticed abnormalities during the beta test of the game in July of this year. Certain Geforce cards overheated strongly and recorded high spikes, and in some cases even models of the Geforce RTX 3090 burned out completely.

YouTuber JayzTwoCents confirmed failures with the following graphics cards:  Radeon RX 590, Radeon RX 6800, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Radeon RX 6900 XT, Geforce RTX 3080 Ti and Geforce RTX 3090.

Hardware manufacturer EVGA subsequently investigated the affected graphics cards and attributed the failures to shoddy workmanship and poor soldering, as reported by the site PC World

Now players are again reporting difficulties after playing New World. However, one case on Reddit could be traced back to another cause: The user had lifted the FPS cap. So if you notice that your graphics card is overheating, you should definitely limit the FPS to the highest 60. Otherwise, there is a risk that the excursion into the New World will be a trip to the nearest junkyard.
