A simple screenshot is enough to send fans on Reddit into a frenzy. Because it looks amazing!
It’s a problem we all know as gamers: you put a game aside, don’t touch it for years, and when you start it up again, you have no idea what’s going on. “What is this? That wasn’t there before!” and “How does that work again?” are just two of the questions that pop into your head at that moment.
A Minecraft fan found himself in this situation. His solution: “I’ll ask Reddit.” No sooner said than done: he took a screenshot of his predicament and turned to the community.
But he certainly didn’t expect this reaction.
Run and duck!
Reddit user Force_Mobster2321 hadn’t touched Minecraft for seven years. So it’s no wonder that when he returned to the blocky world, many things were different from how he remembered them.
This includes not only new biomes and gameplay mechanics, but also new enemies who mean him no good. The user is facing one of these enemies at the very moment he takes the screenshot. His question: Who is that?
Got Back on Minecraft after a 7 Year Break, What is that..?

The advice on what he should do next is surprisingly clear:
That’s death. I recommend you crouch down and turn around. RUN CROUCHING.
Run!
If he’s already running, you’re dead meat.
Why is that? It’s simple: the NPC looming in the thick fog is a guard. He is the most powerful enemy in the entire game. He has the most health and causes the most damage.
At least he’s blind, so attentive players can get out of his way in time before he detects and pursues them through vibrations and noises.
This is the most cinematic screenshot I’ve ever seen
The statement in the subheading comes from Reddit user Hunterrcrafter and has been met with widespread approval. The snapshot of the Minecraft returnee is simply beautiful.
The dark colors, the thick fog, the looming guardian – the screenshot exudes pure atmosphere! The discussion in the Reddit thread quickly drifts away from the threat posed by the guardian to the question of how to hide the UI and thus create a new wallpaper.
Spoiler: The community was successful! If you want the UI-less image, just scroll down a bit further in the comments section of the thread.
Maybe there’s a good reason for you to fire up Minecraft again after a long break. For example, the big graphics upgrade was recently released, which visually revamps the aging building game. And of course, a lot of new content has been added in recent years.
Now you know: the community will be there for you. Unless it’s about a warden.
