The self-proclaimed president of League of Legends has released the official song for the 2022 World Championship in North America.

Now the World Championship in League of Legends can begin: With “Star Walkin'”, American artist Lil Nas X released the official song of the Worlds 2022 on Thursday evening. He will also perform it live at the final on 5 November in San Francisco.

Last week, the 23-year-old singer had already been introduced as the performer of this year’s Worlds song. But that’s not all: in an extremely funny video, the rapper also unceremoniously appointed himself as the new president of League of Legends.

In keeping with tradition, Riot Games also gave the Worlds anthem an epic music video featuring many familiar faces from League of Legends and esports. Only 15 minutes after its release, the clip already recorded over 200,000 clicks.

“STAR WALKIN'” thus follows last year’s Worlds song “Burn It All Down” by PVRIS.

The 2022 World League of Legends Championship will begin on 29 September with the play-in phase at Arena Esports Stadium in Mexico City. The venue was still in the headlines in August when a leaking roof caused the semi-final of the Latin American League, LLA, to be abandoned there.
