The Chemtech Drake has caused quite a stir in the League of Legends community since its introduction. Riot Games is now reacting and removing it from the game for the time being.

At the start of the latest pre-season in League of Legends, a number of changes and additions were made in November 2021, including the Hextech and Chemtech Drakes. Shortly after the release of the Chemtech Drake, players criticised the soul buff and the terrain effect. On Monday, the dragon was removed indefinitely.

Riot Games has not yet given any indication as to when the dragon will return to the game. Based on feedback on social media and in polls, the developer decided to temporarily disable the Chemtech Drake, its associated Soul, and the Camouflage terrain in League of Legends. In the statement about the removal of the Dragon, Riot also spoke about its future in the MOBA.

The dragon will only be unavailable for a certain period of time. The development team wants to solve the problems of the current version with a revision of the monster. The focus will be on the terrain in particular. Those responsible at Riot Games always set themselves the goal of creating the best possible Summoner’s Rift.

The controversial Chemtech Drake was only available for a few weeks in the competitive field, yet the removal will leave its mark and influence there as well. The LEC had announced on Monday that the Drake will also be deactivated in the European premier league as early as next weekend.
