Rapper Snoog Dogg reveals in an interview that his friend and colleague Dr. Dre is involved in the music production for the new GTA. The game is thus apparently officially in the planning stage.

US rapper Snoop Dogg gave a crucial hint last Wednesday about work on the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series. In an interview on the Rolling Stone podcast of the news portal of the same name, the rapper is said to have indicated that Dr. Dre is involved in the music production of the game. Of course, this is only possible if the game is already in the works at developer Rockstar Games – new information for fans of the series.

The podcast episode in which Snoop Dogg’s statement is to be heard is scheduled for 29 October. The rapper is believed to say of fellow rapper Dr. Dre, “I know he’s in the studio. I know he’s making some damn good music and some of it is connected to the new GTA game […].”

Snoop Dogg also suspects that said new tracks will only be released along with the game’s release. For Dr Dre, these would also be the first solo songs released since his album “Compton” in 2015.

With GTA V, it has been eight years since the last release of the legendary game series. Since then it has been very quiet around the popular franchise from Rockstar Games and there has been no information about upcoming parts. Snoop Dogg’s alleged leak on the development of the game is therefore the first potential sign of life for the sixth offshoot of the series – And with Dr. Dre behind parts of the in-game music, the new info gives hope for a high-profile makeover of GTA 6.
