EA now wants to make some serious cash outside of Ultimate Team. This meets with little approval from players
While additional in-game purchases in FC 24 (and previous FIFA games) mainly played a role in Ultimate Team mode, EA is now changing its tactics inFC 25
It has been known since July 2024 that an additional and paid Premium Season Pass will be introduced – whichnow also brings benefits in Career and Pro Club mode.
Now the price is fixed:The monthly EA FC 25 Premium Pass will cost 1,500 FC Points, which corresponds to around 15 euros. And the reaction from users is clear and unequivocal:

I was lucky enough to be invited to the EA FC 25 beta. I stumbled across it in Ultimate Team. Now I’ve learned that EA is introducing a Season Pass, but I assumed it would cost 5 euros or something. EA knew it would be criticized, so they would choose a low price. Or so I thought. I’m shocked at the 1,500 FC Points, which equates to around 15 dollars a month.

The reactions to the price are clear: Many fans are disappointed and angry at the new paywall, which now affects almost all modes. Here are a few examples from Reddit:

No chance as a non-payer?
The development studio behind FC 25 emphasizes that there should be no exclusive rewards in the Premium Season Pass that cannot be earned
However, the new model could further widen the gap between players who spend an extra €15 a month and those who don’t, unless they are prepared to grind disproportionately hard – or so fans fear.
For the regular full version of FC 25, EA charges around 70 euros, while the Ultimate Edition with additional FC Points and advance access to the game and other bonuses costs 100 euros.
