A recently released YouTube video is causing a stir in the Witcher community. Instead of familiar REDengine graphics, it presents the famous royal palace of Vizima in the guise of Unreal Engine 5. With razor-sharp textures, realistic lighting, and a level of detail not found in the original, even the first camera pan across the imposing walls feels like a glimpse into a modernized version of the game world.

“Like a different game” – Experience Vizima anew

The virtual tour is divided into eight sections. From the castle corridors to Geralt’s private bathroom and dressing room to Emhyr’s audience chamber.  The vaulted cellars, manicured gardens, Yennefer’s chambers, and the venerable statue hall are also on display.
Each location looks as if it has been taken directly from an elaborate fantasy film set.

As impressive as the clip is, it remains purely for show. The project is not the work of CD Projekt Red itself, but of a fan who has recreated the iconic setting using modern technology. The scene is therefore not playable, and the frame rate in the video is not always completely smooth. For many viewers, however, this is only a minor flaw given the overall visual impact.

In addition to the magnificent images, the clip also whets the appetite for the future: The Witcher 4, which is currently in development, could appear in similar graphic quality. This time, however, as a full-fledged gaming experience. Until then, the palace tour remains a fascinating glimpse into what could be possible when nostalgic locations are combined with cutting-edge technology.
