What new games were announced at the Summer Game Fest events? We provide an overview.

It’s the hottest time of the year for video games:At the Summer Game Fest and many events surrounding it, a number of new games will be announced from June 6 to 8, 2025.

GlobalESportNews will be reporting live from shows such as the Xbox Showcase and the Future Games Show, but even a night shift with several news editors will struggle to cover all the latest news.

It’s only natural that one or two smaller new titles slip through the net. But we also know that youexpect the most comprehensive coverage possibleeven for the most obscure games.

Summer Game Fest: New game announcements at a glance

  • Last Flagis a 5v5 team shooter from Night Street Games in the funk style of the 1970s. It’s a capture the flag game where players compete as game show contestants. It’s backed by Dan Reynolds from the band Imagine Dragons. Release: 2026 for PC.
  • Atomic Heart 2 continues the wacky shooter set in the Soviet Union. This time, there will be more role-playing elements. A release date for PC and consoles has not been announced.
  • The Cube is a new multiplayer RPG shooter set in the retrofuturistic Atomic Heart universe. The game takes place in a floating cube structure and will be released for PC and consoles. No release date has been announced.
  • Into the Unwellis a co-op action roguelite from She Was Such A Good Horse and Coffee Stain Publishing. Set in a surreal cartoon world, it will be available soon on Steam Early Access.
  • LEGO Party! is a multiplayer party game from SMG Studio, the LEGO Group, and Fictions. It features mini-games and customizable minifigures. It will be released in 2025 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.
  • Scott Pilgrim EX is a new adventure brawler video game from Tribute Games set in Toronto. It will be released in early 2026 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.
  • Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth installment in the survival horror series, will be released on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). The game returns to Raccoon City and combines psychological horror with action.
  • Blighted is an action-adventure game from Drinkbox and Pop Agenda set in a psychedelic Western setting. It can be played solo or cooperatively. No release date has been announced.
  • Relooted is an action-adventure heist game from Nyamakop. Set in an Afrofuturistic setting in the late 21st century, players must liberate real African artifacts from Western museums. It will be released for PC and Xbox Series X/S. No release date has been announced.
  • Tire Boyfrom OtherSide Entertainment and Megabit Publishing is a PvPvE multiplayer stealth game set in a magical metropolis in the 1910s. Players become master thieves through dynamic storytelling. No release date has been announced.
  • Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver is a co-op action game in which players join the Wu-Tang Clan to save Shaolin. The setting is Afro-surrealistic and anime-inspired. It features a dynamic combat soundtrack. No release date has been announced.
  • Stranger Than Heaven (formerly Project Century) is a detective brawler with survival elements from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. It is set in Japan in the 1910s and 1940s and does not yet have a release date or specific platforms.
  • Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Treefrom Bandai Namco is a 2D action roguelike for PC (Steam), Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be released on September 19, 2025.

    Role-playing game

    • Chronicles Medievalis a sandbox RPG set in 14th and 15th century Europe.Comparisons with Mount & Bladeare obvious. Early Access is planned for 2026 on PC.
    • Mortal Shell 2has been announced by Cold Symmetry and Playstack. It is a standalone sequel to the dark action RPG with an expanded combat system and open world. A beta will launch in early 2026 on Steam.
    • Nicktoons & The Dice of Destinyis a co-op action RPG from Nickelodeon and GameMill Entertainment. It features Nickelodeon characters such as SpongeBob in a tabletop fantasy setting and will be released in fall 2025 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.
    • Code Vein 2is an action role-playing game from Bandai Namco Studios set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players fight for survival as Revenants and can use time as a weapon. It will be released in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

      Strategy

      • Jurassic World Evolution 3has been announced by Frontier Developments. Players build a dinosaur park, but details about new features are not yet available. The release date is October 21.
      • Game of Thrones: War for Westerosis a large-scale strategy game from PlaySide. Players take control of one of the houses of Westeros, construct buildings, and engage in real-time battles with dragons. It will be released in 2026 for PC via Steam.

        Puzzle/Adventure

        • Please, Watch The Artworkis a spinoff game of the Please, Touch the Artwork games by Thomas Waterzooi. It is a detective game in which you have to spot changes in animated artworks by Edward Hopper. It will be released for PC, mobile, and Nintendo Switch. A release date has not yet been announced.
        • Escape Academy 2: Back 2 Schoolis a puzzle adventure game from Coin Crew Games. It is set in a school and offers co-op play. It will be released in 2026 for PC.
        • Pocket Boss by Langfilm and Playables is an interactive puzzle/management game in which you manipulate data via a chat interface. No release date has been announced.
        • Lego Voyagers by Light Brick Studio and Annapurna Interactive is a cooperative puzzle game. Two Lego bricks travel through a world with a typical plastic look and solve puzzles. It will be released soon for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
        • Snap and Grabfrom No Goblin and Annapurna Interactive is a puzzle adventure game in which you plan crimes using photos. Players explore exotic locations, photograph treasures, and combine images to create heist plans. No release date has been announced.
        • Killer Inn from Square Enix is a team-based social deduction game set in a large mansion. Players are either “wolves” who murder, or “lambs” who try to expose the murderers. No release date has been announced.
        • Out of Words is a co-op platform adventure game from WiredFly and Kong Orange with stop-motion visuals. Players control characters with stolen mouths and can reverse gravity. It will be released in 2026 for PC (Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
        • Fractured Blooms is a psychological horror farming simulation from Serenity Forge. The game, built in Unreal Engine 5, is inspired by a true story and features a trauma-themed time spiral. No release date has been announced.

          Sports/Racing

          • Sonic Racing: CrossWorldsis a racing game from SEGA featuring Sonic characters and guest appearances from other SEGA franchises. It will be released on September 25, 2025, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. The Switch version will follow.
          • Felt That: Boxingis a humorous arcade boxing game from Sans Strings Studio and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. As puppet boxer Ezra “Fuzz-E” Wright, you fight to save an orphanage. It will be released on Steam, but no release date has been announced.

          Action

          • Blind Descentis a sci-fi survival adventure below the surface of Mars. Characters explore an alien world, build bases and mutate to adapt. Online co-op for four players. Early Access on Steam will start in 2026.
          • Reachis an action-adventure game from nDreams Elevation that offers VR immersion with full-body awareness and tactile interactions. Players explore an underground civilization. It will be released in 2025 for Meta Quest, PSVR2, and PC.
          • Fading Echo is an action-adventure game in which players switch between human and aquatic forms as “One” to fight and explore. The game features an ever-changing world. Released in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
          • Guardians of the Wild Skyis a survival crafting adventure from Blue Isle Studios. Players build flying castles, tame magical creatures, and explore a cloud world full of floating islands. Coming to Steam this summer.
          • NSR2is a rhythm-based action-adventure game in which players go on a world tour with rock stars Mayday and Zuke to conquer the charts. The successor to No Straight Roads is supposed to offer a diverse selection of music. Released in 2026 for PC and consoles.
          • Echoes of the Endis a third-person action-adventure game set in an Iceland-inspired fantasy world. Players control Ryn, a Vestigium with magic who wants to save her brother. Magic and sword fights, puzzles and exploration are offered. There is no release date.
          • Ahoy is a maritime co-op adventure set in the late 18th century in the Caribbean. Players explore, trade, manage their crew, and fight in naval battles—always from a first-person perspective. The game focuses on historical authenticity and crew management. Early Access will start in January 2026.
          • WTF: Waifu Tactical Forceis a tactical movement shooter with PvP and base building. Victories bring XP and currency to the Mother Base, unlocking perks and characters that support you in battle. The game relies on fast movement, optimized netcode, and anime style. Release 2026.

            Roleplaying game

            • The Expanse: Osiris Rebornis a sci-fi action RPG set in the series universe. Players lead a spaceship crew and fight in cover shooter style. Released for PC (Steam, Epic, GOG), Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. No release date was mentioned.

              Puzzle/Adventure

              • Call of the Elder Godsis a Lovecraftian narrative puzzle adventure and the sequel to Call of the Sea. Players solve puzzles and travel through time and space to solve the disappearance of loved ones. Coming to PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. No release date announced.
              • Eat the Rich is a chaotic social deception game in which billionaires compete against each other in a game show. Players forge alliances, cheat, and participate in mini-games. It will be released on July 23, 2025, for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), and later for PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile.
              • Ascend is an astrological adventure puzzle game in which players take on the role of Aurora and change the fate of their world by passing zodiac trials on a mystical mountain. The game features time travel mechanics. It will be released on August 28, 2025, for PC on Steam.
              • Ritual Tides is a Lovecraftian adventure set on a fictional British island. The game will be released for PC and consoles. No gameplay has been shown yet.
              • The Bureau of Fantastical & Arcane Affairs is a humorous exploration game in which players take on the role of an inspector and save stories from ruin. You talk to residents, punish offenders, and then experience the fable as the hero. No release date has been announced.
              • Whispers in the Fog is a psychological first-person horror game that focuses on atmosphere and exploration. Players wake up with no memory in a foggy forest and solve environmental puzzles to uncover a personal mystery. No release date has been announced.

              The new games from Wholesome Direct

              • On-Togetheris a social chat room game from GigaPuff that offers productivity tools such as focus timers and to-do lists. Players can collaborate, chat, and play mini-games. Coming to PC on Steam in late 2025.
              • Gourdlets Together is the multiplayer sequel to the cozy sandbox game Gourdlets. Players build island cities for vegetable inhabitants, go fishing, and can build and chat with friends online. It is scheduled for release on Steam for PC in 2025.
              • Collector’s Cove is a cozy farming adventure on the high seas from VoodooDuck. Players sail with a dinosaur friend, cultivate a floating farm, and discover new islands. It will be released in 2026 for PC on Steam.
              • Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a remake of the Nintendo DS game Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar. Players grow crops, raise animals, and sell their goods at the bazaar. It will be released on August 27 for Switch, Switch 2, and Steam.
              • Ambroise Niflette & the Gleaned Bellis an investigative adventure game from Topotes Studio. Players take on the role of detective Ambroise Niflette to solve the theft of the apple bell by exploring the village of Touvoir and interrogating residents. The game features a miniature/stop-motion graphic style. It will be released on Steam at an unknown date.
              • Fishbowl is a coming-of-age story from imissmyfriends.studio that takes place over the course of a month. 21-year-old Alo mourns her grandmother, works from home, cultivates friendships, and solves puzzles to find memories. It will be released for PS5 and Steam, with no release date announced.
