The 40K shooter is currently struggling with crashes and connection problems. According to the developers, there are already a few possible workarounds while they work on the servers
The developers of Space Marine 2 would actually have good reasons to celebrate: The 40K shooter has received a lot of praise from international press reviews, and the first players seem to be enjoying it too. If only it weren’t for the annoying server problems and crashes that are currently overshadowing Early Access
Release for everyone is on September 9, 2024, it remains to be seen whether the developers can fix the glitches by then. According to aforum postthey are already working on it and already have a few tips that could help.
Possible workarounds if your game crashes
- Crashes: Disables overlay software such as Nvidia Overlay, Riva Tuner or Afterburner
- Crash in first cinematic:Make sure you have at least Windows 10 version 1507 installed and that your graphics card driver is up to date.
- Controller not working:Disable Steam Input under Settings – Controller. Also try whether it works via USB plug instead of wirelessly.
- Loads dead when operations are started: Only a restart will help at the moment.
On the PS5 there are also major problems establishing connections to other players. The developers are working on this, but there is no solution at the moment
The developers also remind you that you explicitly do not need to link your Steam and Epic accountsto play Space Marine 2. The request in the game seems to be misunderstood by many, but it is only a way to play cross-platform co-op
The game currently has 75 percent positive user reviews on Steam. Many of the negative reviews criticize the supposedly necessary account linking and technical problems.
There are already over 130,000 players playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. These numbers are likely to increase for the full release, so let’s hope that everything runs smoothly until then.
