Big announcement from Sony on Project Q.

Gaming fans have been asking for months, “When will we know anything concrete about Sony’s streaming handheld console, tailored to PlayStation Remote Play? “

In the course of Gamescom, Sony now provides the answer – and has given “Project Q” a name. The mobile streaming gadget is now called “PlayStation Portal”.

Cost point for the device: 220 euros

What do we know now about the PlayStation Portal?

The following is a list of some of the details Sony has released about PlayStation Portal:

  • 8 inch LCD screen
  • 1080p
  • 60 fps
  • adaptive trigger
  • haptic feedback
  • 3.5mm jack connector for audio

You can play any PS4 and PS5 games with remote play support with the PlayStation Portal. This means that a large part of the PlayStation portfolio is supported.

In spite of all the euphoria, Sony sends a restriction after it: Cloud gaming is not supported. This means that you will only be able to play via Remote Play with the PlayStation Portal.

What do you think of the fact that Sony has now announced details of its Remote Play device? And what do you think of the 220 euro price tag? Will you be buying any Sony toys on release day? Drop us a line in the comments!
