Planet Zoo is above all a dream for builders and animal lovers. A sequel is coming soon.
Frontier’s latest park simulation, Jurassic World: Evolution 3, has just been released, and now a completely new game has been announced… at least.
Revealed is a bit of an exaggeration, as we don’t know much about Planet Zoo 2 yet. Frontier has only announced that, in celebration of Planet Zoo’s sixth birthday, it will be releasing… officially announced that the sequel is already in development.
We don’t know much more than that at this point. Frontier won’t be revealing any further details until 2026. It is unknown whether the building game will be released next year, although it is not entirely unlikely.
What you can expect from Planet Zoo 2
In any case, it’s more than good news that Frontier is working on a sequel. After all, Planet Zoo is a truly magnificent building game that has remained solid over the years and has continued to grow thanks to numerous DLCs.
Planet Zoo is particularly exciting because it gives you a lot of creative control over the individual enclosures and the zoo itself. Fans of the studio are familiar with this from their other park simulations, but Planet Zoo benefits from it almost the most.
After all, the main point of a zoo is to see some exciting, magnificent, majestic, or simply entertaining animals in beautiful surroundings. We strongly expect Planet Zoo 2 to offer even more unusual building options.
Above all, fans are naturally hoping that the enormously lifelike simulation of the animal world will be further developed! This is what made Planet Zoo stand out and brought hundreds of animal species to life in a believable way.
What are your hopes?
Until the game is released and properly unveiled, we can only speculate a little or express our own wishes for now. Feel free to join in! What are your hopes for the new Planet Zoo? One weakness of its predecessor was that the economy was rather weak – but that applies to all Frontier games and is therefore unlikely to change any time soon.
In terms of animal selection, the predecessor already had a lot to offer. However, what had long been desired but never fulfilled were underwater animals and really large aviaries. That would be an area that Planet Zoo 2 could implement well.
