An ingenious gaming experience often needs an ingenious soundtrack. The one for Baldur’s Gate 3 is apparently particularly popular

Yes, (Baldur’s Gate 3) looks fantastic, has a wonderfully deep character system, likeable characters, an engaging story and plenty of alternative story paths and solutions. But do you know what else Baldur’s Gate 3 has? A spectacularly good soundtrack!

To understand this, you only have to listen to a few pieces that play regularly throughout your adventure. For example, how about the main theme (The Power) or the song heard in the character editor (Down By The River). Is it even possible to listen to these songs without pining? Oh yes, and then there’s a very special song during a very special boss fight. You know what I’m talking about

As it turns out, the soundtrack is so good that millions of people listen to it regularly, regardless of the role-playing game. In a tweet, composer Borislav Slavov thanks the BG3 community, which has listened to the soundtrack 30,000,000 times on Spotify alone. According to him surreal realization.

An established quantity

Although Borislav Slavov has probably set himself a particularly highly esteemed monument with the soundtrack to Baldur’s Gate 3, it is not the first time that the good gentleman has created great emotions with his sounds

Slavov already provided the background music for Larian’s previous project Divinity: Original Sin 2. Many individual pieces also stood out here, such as the main theme (Sins and Gods) or the ballad performed by accompanist Lohse in the game (Sing for me).

But even before that, Slavov provided the musical backdrop for numerous games. These include well-known titles such as:

  • Crysis 2 and 3
  • Two Worlds 2
  • Ryse: Son of Rome
  • Knights of Honor

With the soundtrack to Baldur’s Gate 3, Slavov currently even has the chance to be honored at the Game Awards. After all, the music for the role-playing game has been nominated in the corresponding category at the award show. There are also seven other categories in which Baldur’s Gate 3 could win an award. Among others for Game of the Year

What is your opinion on the soundtrack of Baldur’s Gate 3? In your opinion, does the music hit the mark or do you like the background music a little less? Do you have a piece that you particularly appreciate? Do you also belong to the 30,000,000 streams on Spotify or do you rarely listen to video game soundtracks independently of the game? Let us know in the comments!
