Wraith Ops may be a trip back in time in terms of gameplay, but thanks to Unreal Engine 5, it doesn’t look like one.

Developer Grassrootz Studio says it is foregoing loot boxes and aggressive monetization for its tactical shooter. Instead, it promises “infantry action in its purest form.” Players assemble an operator from an arsenal of over 60 weapons with numerous attachments, grenades, gadgets, and various camouflage outfits.

Four game modes are planned for launch: Overlord (12 vs. 12), Gun Game, Arena (3 vs. 3), and Team Deathmatch. Wraith Ops features a dynamic weather system and a special system for ballistics and weapon penetration. For that complete old-school feel, dedicated servers and custom hosting are a must.

The release is still planned for 2025, but there is no specific date yet. You can already add Wraith Ops to your wish list on Steam .
